Orticolario 2026: “En rêverie” on Lake Como
Every autumn, the magnificent setting of Villa Erba in Cernobbio becomes the stage for one of Lake Como’s most fascinating events: Orticolario, a celebration of nature, landscape, art and design.
From 1 to 4 October 2026, the historic villa and its park overlooking the lake will welcome the sixteenth edition of the event, this year inspired by the theme “En rêverie”.
An invitation to dream, to look at nature through imagination and to discover a world where gardens, plants, art and creativity meet.
The protagonists of this edition are the “fantastic plants” – real or imagined botanical forms that inspire gardens, installations and unexpected interpretations of the natural world.
But perhaps the real charm of Orticolario lies in the setting itself: for a few days, the century-old park of Villa Erba is transformed into a succession of gardens, colours, scents and artistic installations, while glimpses of Lake Como appear between the trees and become part of the experience.
For those of us who live and work here, Orticolario is also an opportunity to rediscover a familiar place through different eyes.
Over the years, we have visited the event many times and collected photographs of gardens, flowers, installations and simply beautiful details that caught our attention.
So, rather than saying more, this year we decided to let the images tell the story: “A glimpse of Orticolario through our eyes.”
