Bated breath, a bit of a thrill and wonderful views
From Lake Como to the highest Tibetan bridge of Europe!
Just spending one hour and a half by car from the Lake Como you can reach the small village of Campo Tartano, province of Sondrio, Valtellina.
Here is the “Ponte nel Cielo”, Tibetan bridge opened on 22th September 2018; it is the highest Tibetan bridge of Europe with its own 140 meters high.
The “Ponte nel Cielo” (bridge in the sky) is 234 meters long and 1 meter large, it made by 700 larch boards.
The bridge links the small village of Campo di Tartano with the opposit side of the Valley at the altitude of 1038 meters.
It is exiting experience for everybody, for children too! You walk at 1038 meters in the amazing scenary of the mountains and the north area of Lake Como. At the end of the bridge you find two different trekking trails: the path “La via dei Ponti” (for experts) and the path that is going down to the dam of Colombera.
The entrance to the bridge is with ticket; during the weekend the number of visitors is limited, and is possible to buy the ticket only online, the cost is € 5.00.
While on weekdays it is purchased on place.
The bridge is open every day, from 9.30 am to 4.15 pm (last access) throughout the year.
